Dinosaur footprints are a remarkable story in the history of the Connecticut River Valley — and for too long, it has been nearly unknown. Each section here was written as a post rather than in chronological order, but over time the entries will be reorganized, rewritten, in some cases combined, and new material will be added. In the meantime, please select from the History drop-down menu and enjoy learning about Dexter Marsh, James Deane, Edward Hitchcock, Roswell Field, and the “fossil bird tracks” discovered in the Connecticut River Valley in 1835.
